Lyn is an award-winning public health academic who engages in research and action to promote aged and dementia-friendly communities. She has expertise in the development and use of inclusive and participatory methods to work with people with dementia and their care partners. Lyn also has extensive experience in the use of social marketing as an action framework to promote health in diverse areas including: dementia friendly communities, respite for carers of people with dementia; dementia risk reduction, and dementia help-seeking and service utilisation. In 2018, Lyn was appointed as an Age Friendly Mentor under the World Health Organisation and International Federation of Ageing’s Age-friendly Environments Mentorship Program (MENTOR-AFE), established to foster leadership development in people striving to make their communities more responsive to people of all ages.
