Dr Marita Chisholm

Researcher and Registered Nurse

Organisation/Affiliation:

As a Registered Nurse, Marita has worked in a variety of clinical settings. As an early-career researcher, she has over 10 years’ research experience across a range of projects at Monash University and La Trobe University, completing her PhD in 2016. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Evidence Based Aged Care (ACEBAC), School of Nursing and Midwifery, College of Science, Health and Engineering, La Trobe University.

Previous roles have included Innovation and Projects Manager Older Persons Health at Rural Northwest Health, and a Fellow with the Capacity Building in Care Research (CBCR) program, Dementia Centre for Research Collaboration (DCRC).

Marita’s interests include person-centred care, personhood, and rural and regional communities.

Aspect of AJDC I would like to see develop:

Dementia care in rural and regional Australia across a range of care settings (with an interest in the Aged Care Quality Standards).
